I read the following today...written by Peter Arnell in his book, Shift.
"When you have the most on the line and the least going for you, you learn the most about yourself."
When you read this what is your reaction?
I would love to hear your thoughts.

I think there's a lot of truth in this statement, but I feel like my experience has been more that having the most on the line & the least going for you tends to be more of a confirmation of what you know about yourself. At least for me, when it's so obvious that it's a "this is it" moment where my decisions are really going to have a huge impact on my future, it's almost a relief because I already know what decision I should make, & to surrender & be like, 'ok God, do your thing!'
ReplyDeleteI think it's when I have the most on the line & the most going for me that I learn more about myself...sometimes disappointing things. Sometimes I realize I've left my humility packed behind all of my accomplishments, or I just quickly lose sight of how God's created opportunities for me because everything seems to be so clearly a result of MY actions. I'm not saying I'm always disappointed in these situations, but those are some of the lessons that stick with me the clearest.
Thanks for the thoughts Catherine.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read the thought from Peter Arnell, my first thought is that everything is out there. You can't fake anything. It's go time...and either you are ready or you are not, that is, to give your best effort. The smart ones will realize their limitations and seek advice, assistance, partner up with someone who has walked in these places before them. The rest? I believe those will be some very unhappy people once they realize that their pride got in the way of their goals being reached.
Thanks for taking the time to post back. Check back as often as you can, and feel free to invite your friends to check out the blog too.
